Losing Weight Before My Wedding?

lose weight before wedding
Buster Doggie asked:

I’ve seen a lot of brides asking for help on how to lose weight before their wedding. I’m in the same boat. Would anyone like to form a support network for each other? Not sure if we could set up a website, chat room or how we could go about it, but I just know it is so much easier if you have someone to help you. Any takers and/or ideas how we could do this???

Gather up some people in your situation and head over to. It’s a website where you can create a free forum. The forum could be the format of your support group. It’s a pretty neat thing. Let me know if you need any further help.

do you know what if he can’t except you for who you are then it is not worth getting married did he come out and tell you that you had to loose weight before you get married cause if he did then i would look at him and say you wanted me for me and not the weight

that sounds good to have a support group but it’s a shame to have that added stress on top of the every day troubles of wedding planning! Good luck

Hey I got married in Kauai 9 months ago and lost a bunch of weight. Go to your health food store and get Amino Acids liquid is best, work out thirty minutes everyday or more depending on your schedule, cardio and abs and some weights…no soda even diet, no bread, no potatoes and no sugar…eat skinned chicken and brown rice, steamed veggies.I do allow myself a baked potatoe or even a roll now but for the most part I have no cravings for anything else the amino seems to help that out. Good luck and you can do it…I lost in one month 11 lbs just with that program and the amino’s.I have lost a total of 74 over one year and am still going. I started the weight loss as soon as I became engaged and have kept it off…

The stress of wedding planning will knock the weight right off, trust me. I’ve lost five pounds in two months.

I’m pretty sure that anyone can form a group on Yahoo:

You could always set it up & post back with how to find it & people can join. I don’t necessarily need to lose weight, I need to tone up & my fiance just bought gym memberships for both of us, but I would still join for motivation, etc.

The best thing you can do is a “lifestyle” change, not a “diet”.

Dieting, starving yourself, and taking pills doesn’t work. If there was a miracle pill out there…don’t you think we’d all be on it?

I’m not sure how we’d go about forming a network, but I’m more than open to chatting through emails :)

Good luck :)

I am in the same boat and I would love to form a support group for this. It’s not that my fiance’ doesn’t accept me for who I am. He always has! This is a personal goal for myself and I have about 18 months to do it.

I suggest you use a site like sparkpeople.com and make a thread there – it’s welcoming and open to new groups. But the big advantage is you have all the weight loss tools right there at your disposal: recipes, advice, weight loss trackers, exercise trackers, food planners – the works!

I lived on veggies and yogurt for about two months before my wedding. The dress I was having trouble breathing in had to be pinned to my bra straps!

Check out this site. They offer a free E-book on weight loss that might be able to help you.

there is this exercise ball…the bender ball that I use and it’s easy to use it’ll tighten your abs and buns and thighs.

That’s a good start. Just make sure you get your dress that fits now, because it can always be taken in. So many people get their dress in the size they hope to be when they get married, only to have to add fabric the last minute. You can have it taken in a week or two before your wedding. So many also want to lose 50 lbs in 2 mos. Bad idea. I tell them to just start eating healthy, and exercise, and the 50 lbs will come off in time.

Right now I am also in the same boat. I am getting married in June and I want to loose 15 pounds. The only excersice I get is running after my 14 month old. And being that I’m a mom on the go, I just go to the nearest fast food joint when I’m out. I don’t know how you would go about starting some kind of group…but I would defintley join. Good luck!
